Lying to Meet You by Anna Garner

Chloe Lane and her childhood friend, Ethan Webster, decide to run an experiment.  Does being in a relationship make you more wanted by others?  They have a pretend relationship and see how it all works.

Before I start with the review I have to share that Anna Garner is an author I have read before but under her other name, Libby Mercer.

Chloe is a fashion designer, successful boutique owner, and a reality show judge.   Having no real time for a relationship, she decides a “fake” relationship will work perfectly.  When William Shannon, another reality show judge, takes an interest in Chloe she decides to test their theory.   I felt for Chloe, especially when she took Ethan home to her family.  It seemed all they cared about was Chloe getting married and having babies.   They gave her no support or encouragement in her extremely successful business ventures.   Yet Chloe is able to be successful and use the support of her friends as pick me ups when she needs them.

I read Lying to Meet You in one day.  I could not put it down.  I loved the humor, the friendships, the family issues, and the romance.   It was not a hot and heavy book, but the romance was perfect.  The ending was absolutely perfect, Anna wrote it exactly as it should have been.   This is a pure chic-lit story that all my friends will love.   I highly recommend it.
