Will Stephens has loved Julia Lang for his whole life, since
he was six and would not let her ride on his grandfather’s tractor. When they graduate high school, Julia head
off to college and Will joins the local small town fire department. He never gives up on their love and knows
there has to be some way to get her back.
A group of firefighters start a band, District 9, and Will is the lead
singer. A song he wrote for her back in
high school is his hope for getting Julia back and keeping her forever.
At the beginning of this book I was wondering what I had
agreed to read. I had a hard time
connecting with the characters and wasn’t sure I would be able to finish the
novel. BUT I quickly realized I had it all
wrong. I was so invested in Will and
Julia that I could not put this novel down, much less consider not finishing
it. I loved how they kept coming back
to each other, even when Julia was trying her best to move on and find her
place in the world and while Will was holding out hope and knowing he would
never find another girl that he could love as he loved Julia. The story kept me hoping that a happy ending
would come to Will and Julia and the way they got there was amazing.
Julia’s story of their relationship is told in Butterfly
Weeds by Laura Miller. I have not read
this story, but will probably check it out before too long. Will’s story touched my heart. I felt his pain and hope. I knew of his strength in love. Everyone should have the experience of having
someone love you as much as Will loved Julia.
This is a novel that everyone should read. I recommend it to all my fellow chic-lit
readers.

I hadn't heard of this one but it does sound incredibly good. What a stunning cover too! I love stories about reconnecting lovers. I like hearing about their pasts and why things didn't work out the first time around. Thanks for bringing My Butterfly to my attention, I'll be buying the ebook!
