From Goodreads:
On the very night she gets engaged to the man she loves,
sex-crimes prosecutor Anna Curtis’s professional life takes a shocking turn
that threatens everything she holds dear.
While Anna is enjoying a romantic dinner capped off by a marriage proposal, a few miles away two separate groups are gearing up to raid a brothel. A vicious killer known as Diablo—the Devil—leads one group. A few minutes later, Anna’s own investigative team heads in to search the brothel, as part of the fight against human trafficking in D.C. Both groups are caught off guard, with deadly results.
As Anna investigates the bloody face-off, the boundaries between her work and home life begin to blur. Though eager to focus on her new fiancé, the chief homicide prosecutor Jack Bailey, and her soon-to-be stepdaughter, Olivia, this case and the search for Diablo are never far from her mind.
When Anna discovers a web of long-buried secrets and official lies leading straight to her doorstep, the truth about this case threatens to rob her of the happiness she seemed so close to securing. And everything Anna counted on becomes a question mark as Diablo moves in for yet another kill.

My Review:
This is my first book by Allison Leotta and I am wondering
how I could miss such an amazing author.
Leotta writes from her own experiences and cases as a Washington D.C.
prosecutor. Her knowledge of the inner workings
of the criminal system is very evident in the writing. She tells the story with a real look at the secret
world of gangs and their violence.
Speak of the Devil told the scarey, yet attention keeping,
story of a horrible gang and a prosecutor willing to put it all on the line to
bring them down. Anna Curtis has been
aware of the MS-13’s reign over her city, when their attacks start affecting
her personal life she takes her work to the next level. Between fighting the M-13’s and preparing her
case against them and the impending marriage to Jack Bailey her life is
non-stop. I found that with each twist
and turn it was harder to put the book down.
This novel had a great combination of mystery and
romance. I was enthralled by the very
beginning . It will be highly recommend
by me to anyone who loves police/court dramas, romance, and thrillers.
