Years after leaving Cayman because of her notorious serial
killer mother, Angel Mason returns as an inspector on the police force. On the
twentieth anniversary of her mother's capture, someone is murdered in the same
manner as her mother's victims. To complicate matters more, Angel's old flame,
Bren McDougal, is assigned to help her with capturing the killer, and it's soon
undeniably clear that the passion between them is hotter than ever. As the
killer repeats her mother's deadly pattern, Angel must face the terrifying
truth she's been hiding for twenty years.
My Thoughts…..
This is an unusual crime novel. The twists and turns kept me intrigued from
the first sentence to the last sentence.
The fact that there is not one but two serial killers and one more
person who fears they may be a serial killer made it absolutely amazing. I could not stop myself from guessing who
the real killer was. I am glad to say
that I was wrong for most of the book and surprised at who the actual serial
killer turned out to be.
The romance was secondary, but yet an important part of the
story. Elke Feuer was able to pull the
storylines together perfectly, making me cheer for Angel to find her happiness. I was so happy when Bren didn’t turn his
back on her when the going got tough.
He fought for her and showed his true feelings to her without pushing
her into situations that she was uncomfortable with.
Anyone who enjoys a great mystery with plenty of suspense
and some romance thrown in should read Deadly Bloodlines. I could not put it down and look forward to
more from Elke Feuer.
