Teenage love…Bobby and Belle are high school sweethearts deep in love.  When Bobby joins the military he promises to return and that they will live happily ever after.  He then writes Belle a “Dear John” letter that forever changes both their lives.

Fifteen years later, Belle and Bobby meet again when their respective jobs join forces to track down whoever is taking black market guns to Mexico.  Bobby decides that he has to make their relationship right and vows to win back Belle’s trust.

I have to start by saying I LOVE JESSIE LANE!  The ladies who write as Jessie Lane are amazingly talented and have never let me down.

This is a story of first loves and second chances.  Secret Maneuvers kept me having to read more and more.  I thought I knew what Bobby would need to do to win back Belle and then he would go past what I was thinking making me go Awwwww….how romantic, or sexy, or sweet.  When I say sexy, I really mean hot blow your mind sexy.  Those had to be my favorite scenes.

Belle is an amazing character.  Her strength and resolve to do the right thing and escape her rough past makes her a true hero.  When it was told that she was an ATF agent.  I knew she would be okay.  I was just hoping she would get to the place where she was okay with Bobby.

Bobby, sexy Bobby, made me mad so many times.  First with the letter.  Then it seemed that he blamed Belle for disappearing and not trying to make their relationship work.  But when he decided to own up to his mistakes and win back Belle I fell in love with him.  He was a character I want to throttle out of frustration and then crawl into bed with him.

Jessie Lane gave me everything I wanted and more with this book.  I cannot wait for more to be shared about character s in this novel.    If you have never read Jessie Lane’s books, any of her books, you are seriously missing out and great reading.  I recommend anything written by these ladies.
